The Customs Preventive Division officials seized 54 Kgs of Ganga at Kothavalasa Railway station in the afternoon of Sunday, 06.11.2016. Acting on a tip off, Customs officials in coordination with RPF officials, seized 54 Kgs of Ganja from Plat form number 2 of Kothavalasa Railway station. It is suspected to be brought in the train Kirandal express. Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Narendra Kumar Yadav informed that under the able guidance of Sri Sadhu Narasimhareddy, Joint Commissioner and Sri S.K. Rahman, Commissioner of Customs, a total of 26 packages weighing 54 Kgs, containing Ganja wrapped in brown colour paper tightly sealed with light brown colour cellophane tape has been seized. The market value of the seized goods could be approximately 3.24 lakhs. The abandoned goods have been presented before the the Hon’ble II Metropolitan magistrate for Railways, Visakhapatnam seeking directions for further course of action by Shri V. Chandrasekhar, Superintendent of Customs. The Customs officials have also seized Ganja in the month of August, 2016 as well.
