Gordon, Gordon, Baritone Soloist has presented special songs and delivered the Christmas message. 12th December, 2006 The 59th men and 22nd women Senior National Weightlifting Championship was inaugurated at Swarnabharathi Indoor Stadium. 8th December, 2006 Devotees at the Mary Matha shrine on Ross Hill during the Feast of Immaculate Concepion. 4th December, 2006 On the eve of Navy Day, the Eastern Navy Command Band performed at RK Beach.  The performance included Beating the Retreat, Drummer's Call, Evening Hymn, Sunset Bugle Call and Exit March. Chief Guest VADM (Retd) KASZ Raju, PVSM, AVSM, NM released the Navy Week 2006 Brochure. Aerobatic Display by 'Surya Kirans'. The aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force based at Bidar,  displayed the indigenously built "kiran" aircraft and demonstrated some breathtaking maneuvers in the sky. 2nd December, 2006 HIV/AIDS Awareness programme for Lorry and Truck drivers conducted by the City Police and District AIDS Control Society on World AIDS Day on the 1st December, 2006.
