A common sight at Vizag during the Sankranti festival time is a traditionally dressed man with a decorated ox (Basavanna) asking for donations from passers by. He calls out Do...Do...Basavanna.

Traditional Andhra families decorate the entrance of their homes by drawing colourful Sankranti Muggu. A muggu is drawn to welcome the guests home during this harvest season.

Decorated ox (Basavanna) is made to perfrom many a feat which attracts people's attention. The feats aids in generous donations from the onlookers.
