V. Thosali of Visakhapatnam secured title in the Andhra Pradesh State under-17 open category chess tournament conducted by the ad hoc committee of the Telangana Chess Association in Karimnagar recently. She scored four out of the possible four points. Another player from Visakhapatnam, V. Pranavananda, finished runner-up in the boys section with a score of 4.5 points out of possible five. Both have qualified to participate in the National under-17 championships to be held in Patna from December 2 to 10. All Vizag District Chess Association’s interim president Anand Kumar, and vice-president Cheela Ramesh congratulated the duo.
