The week long National Boxing Championship at Swarnabharati Indoor stadium organised by Railway Sports Promotion Board is memorable one in Visakhapatnam city. The sport event witnessed good response from the public of this region. The glittering closing ceremony was held in august presence of General Manager of East Coast Railway Shri Umesh Singh (Chief Guest), Shri R K Varma Secretary Railway Board.
Winners of the 2nd Elite National Boxing Championship were the host Railway Sports Promotion Board with 5 Gold and One Bronze medals.Services stood runners up with 4 Gold and One Silver medal.Haryana stood at Thrid position with One Gold, One Silver, Two Bronze medals.
There was a tough competition in finals between the boxers and finally the most best performer in the bout emerged as the winner. All the stalwarts of the event stood winners except Shiva Thapa.
Most promising boxer of the tournament was given to Manish Kaushik of Services.Best Challenger of the Champoinship was NT Lalbiakkima of Mizoram.Best Boxer of the Championship was given to Manoj Kumar of Railways.
