The 28th all India Postal Inter Circle Cricket Tournament was off to a colourful start at the port stadium here on Monday.
Vice Chancellor of Andhra University G.S.N. Raju, who inaugurated the tournament, appreciated the services being rendered by the Postal Department and felt that sports meets would develop harmony among employees.
Chief Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh Circle, B.V. Sudhakar, presided. Postal Department and game of cricket were similar in the sense that one was serving people for the last 160 years and other entertaining the whole nation, he said.
Postmaster General of Visakhapatnam region Sharda Sampath, Postmaster General of Vijayawada Region M. Sampath, Director of Postal Services, Visakhapatnam region, V. Upender, and Director of Postal Services (HQ) of Odisha Circle Pawan Kumar Singh attended. Teams from 14 postal circles (States) are participating in the five-day event.
