The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) authorities and district administration made all the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the cricket Test match between India and South Africa, to be held at Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium from October 2 to October 6.
Seven committees have been formed by the ACA and Collector V. Vinay Chand, City Police Commissioner R.K. Meena, and GVMC Commissioner G. Srijana, will head the panels.
The city will be hosting the first of the three test match series to be played between India and South Africa. This will be the second test match to be hosted at the ACA-VDCA stadium. The ACA authorities have announced that students will be given a free entry during the five days of the match. However, the guardians of the students need to purchase Rs.100 tickets, said ACA president P.Sarath Chandra Reddy.
City Police Commissioner R.K. Meena said that adequate security arrangements would be made at the stadium. More than 900 personnel will provide a three-tier security inside and outside the stadium. Special teams will be deployed at hotels where the players will be staying, he added. There will be traffic diversion as heavy vehicles and goods carriers will not be allowed on the route during match days from 7.30 am to 6 p.m.
