In a friendly cricket match, East Coast Railway beat RINL here at Col. C.K. Naidu Ukku Stadium on Sunday.
The match was hosted by RINL as part of fostering good relations with ECoR.
In a closely contested match, ECoR annexed the trophy in19.1 overs and finished at 130/3 chasing VSP’s 129/7 in 20 overs.
Earlier, Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukerjee won the toss and chose to field.
RINL captain-cum-opener and CMD P. Madhusudan made a well compiled 24 runs and set the pace for the RINL innings.
Mr. Madhusudan was declared the best batsman.
The railway team picked up a few catches and saved more than 20 runs.
Asish Kumar Gaur scored 30 runs, including a six and 2 fours, Dr. A P Naveen Kumar chipped in with 20 runs.
