Vizag will be hosting Prof. D.B. Deodhar Trophy tournament at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA stadium from March 25 to 29. Three teams -- India A, India B and the winner of the Vijay Hazare Trophy -- will participate in the league tournament.

All the matches will be on a 50-over basis and are day fixtures beginning at 9.30 a.m.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, Ch. Arun Kumar, honorary general secretary of the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), said that some star players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Karthik, Parthiv Patel, Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah will be playing in the tournament.

“As Deodhar Trophy is also tipped to be the selection trials for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy-2017, scheduled to be held in June, senior BCCI officials, including chief selector M.S.K. Prasad, and a few others will be coming to Vizag to watch the matches,” he said.

Cricket buffs would be allowed free inside the stadium.

Following is the schedule: March 25: India A will clash with India B; March 26: India B vs winner of Vijay Hazare Trophy; March 27: India A vs winner of Vijay Hazare Trophy; March 28: Rest Day; and March 29: Final.

The ACA members on Sunday felicitated Ranji skipper G. Hanuma Vihari and all-rounder K.V. Sasikanth, who have been picked for the India Emerging Under-23 team, which will take part in the eight-nation Asia Cup tournament in Dhaka later this month.
