Organisers of National Sports Day celebrations in Visakhapatnam have come under the scanner after using a poster which had Sania Mirzas image but carried the name of former sprinter PT Usha. In order to mark the celebrations of the National Sports Day in the city, the poster was put up near the Submarine museum on the Beach Road. It was also arranged on the occasion of 2K Walkathon. The blunder was spotted by one of the passers by - who uploaded it on social media and the post became a big topic of discussion. The poster was soon removed after the authorities received the flak.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Fit India Movement on the occasion of the National Sports Day 2019, the city was decked up with posters of several sportspersons including PV Sindhu, Pullela Gopichand, Dhyan Chand and others. Along with popular sportspersons, the flexes also carried images of Chief Minister Jagan, tourism, culture and youth advancement minister Muttamsetti Srinivas Rao. The local authorities are yet to respond to the gaffe.
