Baby, Satuluri Sai Shriya, class 1 student of Delhi Public School, who is all of five years old is one rare child who has been learning Bharatanatyam since the age of 3 1/2 years, and within a short span she is made ready to perform Bharatanatyam Arangetram. Sai Shriya is brought to this stage of Arangetram by Guru Smt Ghatti Sita Lakshmi, Director of Vagdevi Institute of Music and Dance. Smt G Sita Lakshmi, is a veteran dancer, scholar, who had trained several 100’s of students in the field of dance.

Arangetram represents the achievement of discipline and a degree of professionalism acquired through vigourous practice in one particular dance form. Bharatanatyam arangetram starts with Allarippu and Jathiswaram –pure forms of steps and postures and in a traditional style continues with Shabdam, Swaram, Swarajathi, Padam, Padavarnam , and culminates with Tillana.

With great love for Lord Krishna, Sai Shriya depicted the naughty acts of the lord in a very heart pleasing manner. Usually in Bharatanatyam, learning pada varnam is a big milestone. To the utmost surprise and satisfaction of Guru Smt. Sita Lakshmi, she could teach Shriya the item in just a couple of days. This truly shows, Shriya is born for Dance. Understanding the core concept of Bhama Kalapam, and Padam at this age is very difficult. But with her love towards the Lord Krishna, Sai Shriya has depicted the emotions of Bhama in a very beautiful manner.

Jatiswara, and Thillana are synonyms for complex footwork, which Sai Shriya has demonstrated with perfection.

People believe andal is the personification of Goddess Lakshmi and on the stage, Shriya appeared just the personification of Goddess lakshmi in the getup of Andal on stage. Made audience enthralled and spell bound. Audience were mesmerized and could not come out of that trance for some time.

All through the entire 3 hrs program, Sai Shriya bore no signs of tiredness. Right from the first item till the last one, she maintained same energy levels, gracious expressions, adept foot work and high spirit.

Doing Charity Show at this tender age gives Shriya a positive motivation towards her dance journey.

Most disciples take years of rigorous training before they can perform an arangetram recital. With the support of her family and the blessings of her Nritya Guru, Sai Shriya has performed her arangetram at the age of five years itself.

Sai Shriya is the youngest dancer to perform Solo Conventional Bharatanatyam Arangetram. Her daring fete is recognized by prestigious ‘Book Of State Records, World Records India, Book Of Little Records, World Amazing Records’.
