A woman allegedly set afire her six-year-old daughter and then committed suicide by setting herself on fire, at Mutuyalammapalem village of Parawada mandal on Monday night.
Both were admitted to a hospital with over 90 per cent burns and they succumbed to the burns on Tuesday evening. The victims were identified as V. Sonia (27) and Adilakshmi (6).
According to Parawada Inspector Ramana Murthy, Sonia took the extreme step unable to put up with the alleged harassment by her husband V. Kondanda.
The police are investigating the case.
