Mystery shrouds the death of a woman aged about 40 years, whose body was found on the shores near Naval Coast Battery on Thursday. The police are yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased and cause of death.
According to Maharanipeta Police Station Inspector K. Mallikarjuna Rao, a few locals found the body and called up the police.
The body was shifted to King George Hospital for post-mortem and further investigations will be taken up after the post-mortem was conducted.
A case under Cr. PC section 174 was registered.
