A woman along with her elder brother was found guilty of killing her husband and was sentenced to serve life imprisonment.
Fourth Additional District Judge G. Gopi on Monday found Konagani Balaraju (45) and Lingedi Rupavathi (30) of Boytini in G. Madugula mandal guilty of murdering Rupavathi’s husband Koteswara Rao (36) and sentenced them to undergo life imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 3,000.
According to Additional Public Prosecutor N. Sanyasi Rao, Rupavathi was married to Koteswara Rao in 2000 and parted ways in 2009 due to differences between them. She left her two children with her husband. Six months later they came to face at Chaparayi Gedda and Koteswara Rao wanted to come back to him since children were growing up and needed attention. Rupavathi refused to accept his suggestion and their relations turned worse. Rupavathi hatched a conspiracy with her elder brother and some others to kill Koteswara Rao and when he went to Maddigaruvu weekly shandy along with her daughter Durga Bhavani on July 1, 2010, Rupavathi, Balaraju and some others attacked him with deadly weapons. Koteswara Rao died on the spot. The then Inspector of GK Veedhi Karanam Sreenu registered a case on a complaint from Durga Bhavani and investigated.
