Three persons, including a woman, were arrested on Thursday on the charge of robbing a 55-year-old woman of her jewellery in an autorickshaw on August 25 near Arilova.
Karri Sravani Reddy (24) of HB Colony runs a brothel in MVP Colony. She befriended Danthuloori Kousik (20) and Kantipamu Ramarao (22), both autorickshaw drivers.
DCP (Law and Order) C.M. Trivikram Varma said that both the drivers facilitated in getting customers to the brothel house.
With an eye on easy money, they joined hands and decided to relieve passengers travelling alone in the autorickshaw.
On August 25, Veluvarthi Subbalakshmi boarded the autorickshaw at Bheemunipatnam to reach RTC Complex.
On reaching an isolated spot near Arilova, the accused snatched her gold chain and cellphone, and pushed her out of the vehicle.
On receiving a complaint, the police tracked the stolen cellphone, which was being used by one of the accused by replacing the SIM card.
This led to the arrest of the three persons, said the DCP.
