Two third-year engineering students were injured in a clash near a pan shop in Rushikonda area on Tuesday night.
According to the police, three third-year engineering students of a private university, went to the pan shop where they found five persons arguing over an issue.
When the students tried to stop them, they in return questioned them and picked a fight. In the melee, one among the five, stabbed one of the students with a sharp-edged weapon and injured another and all of them fled the spot, said Madhurwada ACP B. Nageswara Rao.
The students who suffered minor injuries were identified as Bharghav and Keshav and are out of danger.
The police booked a case and efforts are on to identify the five persons.
