In a case of negligent and rash driving by a car driver, two died and two others were admitted to hospitals with severe injuries at Ravikamatham junction in the district on Wednesday.
G. Easwara Rao, who was driving a Swift Dzire vehicle from Ravikamatham to Visakhapatnam, first mowed down a cyclist, D. Potharaju (39), native of Ravikamatham mandal, who died on the spot. Later, after hitting an autorickshaw, he rammed into a motorcycle carrying two persons.
Both the driver of the motorcycle G. Rajababu and pillion rider B. Nookaraju were admitted to hospitals with grievous injuries. While Rajababu was admitted to KGH in Visakhapatnam, Nookaraju is undergoing treatment in Narsipatnam area hospital.
After hitting the motorcyclist, the driver hit a pedestrian, P. Appalakonda (55), a native of Ravikamatham, who died on way to hospital.
The driver was taken into custody. The case is being investigated.
