Two persons have been arrested on the charge of illegally procuring way bills, printing tax invoices, and selling them to dealers, causing a heavy loss to the exchequer. The scam was unearthed recently following an investigation by the Commercial Taxes Department.
A casual worker in the ACTO office R. Narsinga Rao and his associate based at Vizianagaram G. Koteswara Rao were handed over to the police after they were caught with some unused way bills during a search operation in their houses, Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes T. Siva Sankara Rao told reporters on Wednesday.
