Two engineering students held on ragging charge:

Two students of Pydah College of Engineering and Technology were arrested on Friday on the charge of ragging an 18-year-old fresher.
K. Satish, son of a home guard, had lodged a complaint that he was assaulted by two B.Tech II-year students of EEE branch a few days ago, Anandapuram Inspector A. Parthasaradhi said.
Satish reportedly used to go to college leaving the top two buttons of his shirt open. The accused, Aravinda Kumar and Venkatesh, had asked him to dress properly. Satish was annoyed by it and reported the matter to the college principal, who suspended the two for a week and imposed a fine of Rs.10,000 and Rs.5,000 on them.
Later, Kumar and Venkatesh chided Satish for complaining against his seniors over a petty issue and asked him to come properly dressed to the college on October 13.
Following this, Satish lodged a complaint with the police.

Based on the complaint, Mr. Parthasaradhi registered a case against the accused under Section 4 (2) of the AP Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997, and arrested them.
