Four members of a family from Narasannapeta, Srikakulam, allegedly attempted suicide in a pact by jumping into the sea, late on Sunday night. While the father T. Srinivasa Rao (35) and their two sons T. Sarandeep (4) and T. Chetan (11 months) drowned, the mother T. Venkatlakshmi (26) was saved by a couple who were strolling on the beach a few meters away.
While the bodies of Srinivasa Rao and Sarandeep were traced within an hour, Chetan’s body washed ashore on Monday morning.
According to Three Town Police, they were residents of Narasannapeta and had come to the city for medical check-up of Venkatlakshmi, who has been suffering from an ailment.
