Three young men were arrested by the police on the charge of taking away a gold chain from a person after assaulting him.
The accused -- N. Siva Kumar (33) of Madhurawada, B. Narasinga Rao (31) and K. Suri Appa Rao (36) both residents of China Mushidiwada -- went to a commercial complex in Srinagar area in a car around 9.45 p.m. on November 19. They withdrew money from an ATM and later the trio, who were allegedly in an inebriated condition, urinated near the house of a person. The person’s brother, K. Muralikrishna, annoyed by the attitude of the trio, shouted at them. The accused entered into an argument with Muralikrishna and subsequently attacked him and snatched away his gold chain, weighing about 15 gm, and fled in their car.
The Crime Wing police of IV Town (Dwaraka Zone), led by Inspector D. Lakshmana Rao, investigated the case. Based on the registration number of the car, they intercepted the car at Dwaraka Nagar on Friday morning and arrested the accused under various Sections of the IPC, according to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crimes) S.
