Mild tension prevailed at Arilova Police Station, when the parents and relatives of the 25-year-old MBA student V. Parthasaradhy, who committed suicide on Monday evening, refused to perform the last rites, demanding the presence of the deceased’s reported girlfriend at the cremation ground.
It is learnt that the MBA student in his suicide note had blamed the girl with whom he had a love affair, for the extreme step, and wished that his last rites be performed in her presence.
Till the last reports that had come in, the last rites were not performed, despite the police handing over the body after post-mortem.
Sources in the police said that Parthasaradhy was in love with a girl from Peda Waltair area for a long time. But sometime ago, Parthasaradhy had expressed his inability to marry her, as his parents were not inclined.
Thereafter, the girl lodged a complaint at MVP Police Station, stating that they had been in love for a long time and now the boy was refusing to marry her.
Confirming this, MVP Police Station SHO Vidya Sagar said, “Based on the complaint, we called both the parents and counselled them. However, it was learnt that the issue was settled between them outside the police station after some money was paid to the girl’s family,” he said.
This apparently upset Parthasaradhy and he was depressed since then, finally leading to his taking the extreme step, said Arilova Police.
