Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials booked a case against the sub-registrar of Madhurawada registration office, Anand Kumar, for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to the known sources of his income.
The sub-registrar is currently out of station. His four-storied house at Lawson’s Bay Colony was sealed by the ACB team led by DSP K. Ramakrishna Prasad.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the accused owns a four-storied house at Lawson’s Bay Colony worth Rs. 2.5 crores, one house that was registered in the name of his brother at Sagar Nagar worth about 61 lakh and a farm house of 85 cents at Bheemunipatnam valued at about Rs. 50 lakh.
According to Mr. Ramakrishna Prasad, the ACB officials conducted raids at eight places, including Eluru and Koppuru in West Godavari district, and six places in Visakhapatnam.
It is also learnt that the sub-registrar owns five house sites in the SC Colony at PM Palem under benami names.
The ACB DSP also said that the preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had owned three house sites at Ambedkar Nagar in Seethammadhara.
