The Bahujana Rashtra Porata Samiti, AP Students and Youth JAC and other organisations alleged that Principal of AU College of Science and Technology C.V. Raman registered his date of birth wrong in his service register and gained two additional years of service, and demanded that the university administration suspend him and recover the salary paid to him for the two years.
Prof. Raman had claimed his date of birth as January 8, 1955, while he was born two years earlier, according to information obtained through a petition under the RTI Act, Kondapalli Srinivas Raja of BRPS and Areti Mahesh of the JAC alleged. He was also harassing a research scholar P. Babji and blocked submission of his Ph.D. thesis, they added.
Later, Mr. Babji filed a complaint against Prof. Raman at the III Town Police Station for harassing him.
