Stolen ornaments recovered:

The team of Central Crime Station CCS apprehended two persons who were involved in two house-breaking cases in Chengalraopeta in Old Town area and one in Gajapathinagar in Kancharapalem, here on Wednesday.

The arrested were Dangeti Rajeev Gandhi (23) and Vasupalli Narendra (22). The police also recovered 157.10 gms of stolen gold ornaments from them.

Earlier, in 2005-06, Rajeev Gandhi had acquainted with one Balagam Nagaraju of Kakinada and committed 28 offences in Kakinada, Warangal and Machilipatnam.

They were arrested by the Warangal CCS team in 2006. But since both were juvenile in conflict with law at that time, they were sent to Borstal School.

In 2010 both were released. Subsequently, Rajeev Gandhi moved to Visakhapatnam and befriended Narendra and in 2014 from March to May they committed the three offences.

The CCS team was led by Circle Inspector S. Raghu Srinivas. The accused were handed over to the One Town Police for further investigations.

In another case the Two Town police (Maharanipeta zone) arrested three persons the charges of assault and robbery.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) J. Muralidhar, the accused K. Prasad (21), P. Apparao (19) and Nalla Anil Kumar (19), assaulted three persons at about 12.30 a.m. near Women’s Hostel in Maharanipeta on June 15, and took away one cell phone and watch.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police D.N. Mahesh, one of the accused K. Prasad was involved in a murder case that took place in February this year and was out on bail.
