Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) officer registers cases for illegal transportation of sand

The Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) officials, headed by IPS officer Ajitha Vejendla, arrested 25 persons for illegal transportation of sand. The officials have seized around 135 tonnes of sand in all the cases.

The SEB has also arrested 115 persons, and seized 2,563 tonnes of sand and 116 vehicles which were illegally transporting the sand. Seven cases have been registered in connection with private bulk booking of sand, and for diverting lorries to wrong destinations. SEB Assistant Superintendent of Police V. Ajitha said that the cases were reported in Pendurthi, PM Palem, Duvvada and Bheemili areas.

Ms. Ajitha said that the SEB officials in the city have so far registered 125 cases of illegal sand transportation and related offences since May 2020. A total of 115 persons have been arrested while 2,563 tonnes of sand and 116 vehicles have been seized.
