A six-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped by his father on April 13. But it was kept under wraps, on the insistence of the boy’s mother.
According to Pendurthi Police Station Inspector, J. Murali, A. Sai Krishna a student of Std. I of Mahati Public School, Pendurthi, was allegedly picked up by his father Dr. A. Dileep Kumar, after the school on April 13.
As the boy did not return home, in the school transport, his mother A. Soujanya Sridevi, lodged a complaint after searching for him.
Soujanya, a former lecturer at JNTU-Hyderabad, is staying separately from her husband since last couple of years, owing to alleged marital discord. According to the police, a divorce case is also running in a court.
The police have identified Dileep Kumar, a practising doctor at a hospital in Hyderabad, from the video footage at the school, and have sent a special team to Hyderabad to trace the kid and arrest Dr. Dileep.
“A couple of years back when the duo was living separately in Hyderabad, Dr. Dileep had then taken away the child in a similar fashion without informing the mother. Then Soujanya had filed a complaint in Kukatpally police station, and the child was restored back to the mother. Now again he had done the same thing and we have booked a kidnap case under IPC Section 363,” said Mr. Murali. On why it was kept under wraps, the inspector said that it was on the insistence of the mother, who feared for the life of the child.
