Close on the heels of a sex racket being busted at Bheemunipatnam on Saturday, the City Task Force cracked another racket at Birla Junction near Muralinagar on the National Highway on Sunday evening.
Based on a tip-off, the CTF team, led by Inspector G.V. Ramana, arrested a couple for operating it from a rented upmarket apartment.
A customer was also arrested and two girls were rescued.
The couple were identified as D. Ramakrishna and D. Shakuntala and the customer was one P. Shankar.
As per Mr. Ramana, the couple was running the racket for the past few months and luring girls from various parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Two girls rescued
The rescued girls belonged to Bhadrachalam and Vizianagaram.
The arrested persons were handed over to the Fifth Town Police station and a case was registered under Immoral Traffic and Prevention Act 1956, and investigation is on.
