City Task Force on Sunday raided a beauty parlour near Pandurangapuram and arrested its owner on charge of running a sex racket from the premises. The police also rescued three girls and took a customer into custody.
Acting on a tip-off, a task force team led by ACP I. Chittibabu and Inspector Ilyas Mohammed raided the premises.
According to Mr. Ilyas Mohammed, one T. Krishna was running the unisex beauty parlour ‘Chops’ in Pandurangapuram locality. The parlour had two air-conditioned ante-rooms, from where the racket was reportedly run in the name of giving facials and massages.
“Even using women staffers to give facials or massage to male customers is illegal. We also confiscated a number of condom packets from the rooms,” said the Inspector. The arrested persons and the rescued girls have been sent to the Three Town Police station for further investigation.
This was the first raid by the task force on a beauty parlour this year.
Earlier, a few parlours in the city were raided and similar rackets were busted. , said ACP Chittibabu.
