Seven held on land grabbing charge

A team led of the Anandapuram police, led by Inspector A. Parthasaradhi, arrested seven persons on the charge of trespassing and occupying 25 cents of land at Pandulapaka belonging to J. Jaya using forged documents on Friday.

The arrested were identified as P. Adinarayana and his relatives P. Ramarao, P. Suryanarayana, P. Chinnayya, P. Surya Rao, P. Ramana, and P. Kanaka Raju.
Search is on for one more accused M. Siva Shankar, an employee of the Postal Department in East Godavari district.
ACP (Madhurawada) D. Ravi Babu said that Jaya, wife of former corporator J. Appala Raju and a resident of MVP Colony area in the city, purchased 4.54 acres of land under the Survey Number 44/2 from farmers, including accused persons’ father, in 2006.
M. Siva Sankar, who wanted to grab some piece of land in the prime area, with the support of P. Adinarayana and his relatives created forged documents and got registered around 25 cents of land in his name.
On November 22 this year, P. Adinarayana and his relatives allegedly trespassed into the land, removed the name board, and erected a fence around the 25 cents of the land. Based on a complaint from Jaya, the police investigated the case and arrested the accused.
