Rowdy sheeters murder: police achieve breakthrough:

The police appear to have almost cracked the murder case of Telugu Anil Kumar (28), rowdy-sheeter.

It is learnt that the special team that was formed to crack the case took six more persons into custody in this connection on Wednesday. Earlier, three others were picked by the police for questioning. In total, nine persons are being questioned for their involvement.

Anil Kumar was murdered in the intervening night of last Friday and Saturday, in the Alipuram area under Two Town Police Station limits.

It is believed that 11 persons were involved in the murder.

While nine are being questioned, the police are still on the hunt for other two persons.

According to sources, it was a revenge killing, allegedly organised by one Chittibabu alias Chitti, who is the brother Rajesh, who was reportedly killed by Anil Kumar in 2011.

Anil Kumar and a few others were involved in a double murder case that took place in Kancharapalem area in 2011.

It is learnt that Chittibabu is one among the nine who were being questioned.

Sources told The Hindu that Chittibabu had hatched the plan to eliminate Anil Kumar and had gathered all the others, who disliked Anil Kumar, to form a gang and bump him off.

The police are likely to produce the persons being questioned on Thursday before the media.
