The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested M. Vijay Raju, a senior section engineer in Guntakallu division in South Central Railway for taking a bribe of Rs. 14,000 from a track-man.
The complainant alleged that he was absent from his duties during February-March of this year due to ill health. He alleged that Vijay Raju had demanded the bribe for showing his absent period of 21 days as on duty.
Officials of anti-corruption wing of CBI laid a trap and caught the accused officer red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant.
