Police crack mystery murder case, two arrested

The police cracked murder case of Gurram Ganesh (38), a resident of Gudivada Appanna Colony, Gajuwaka, by arresting both the accused. The arrested were identified as Gurrula Jagarao (27),a resident of Gudiwada Appanna Colony, Gajuwaka, and Guntu Deena (21) of Malkapuram. On July 13, A Karthik, VRO, Grade-II, of Gudivada Appanna Colony, got information that a naked body was found in bushes behind a shopping mall.

Commissioner of Police Rajeev Kumar Meena said that he found a body of a person aged 25-30 years whose hands and legs were tied with clothes and in a highly decomposed state. A complaint was registered at Gajuwaka police station based on which a case was filed.

A special team was formed with DCP (Crime in-charge) of Zone II V. Suresh Babu along with Inspector Police Ch. Surinaidu and others took up the case under the leadership of the ACP south and Gajuwaka division. A watch, bracelet, clothes and slippers were gathered as material evidence for investigation. The deceased was identified as Gurram Ganesh (38), a resident of Gudivada Appanna Colony, Gajuwaka.

According to the police, the deceased was harassing Deena who was in love with the prime accused Jagarao. Unable to bear the harassment, both of them planned to eliminate Ganesh. Gurrala Jogarao and Guntu Deena alias Swathi made him drink toddy and hit him with a rod and strangled him to death. Later, They then tied his hand with a cloth and his legs with his shirt and dumped the body in the drain.
