The cyber crime police have arrested one Rakesh Tickoo, owner of Aryan e Solutions and myeoutlet.com, and resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly duping customers in the garb of online trading.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) S. Varada Raju, the accused was operating the portal for sale of IT products. He employed a tele executive Bijendar Singh to contact prospective customers.
The executive misguided the customers as if he was ICICI Bank official and got their credit card details and PIN information and collected Rs. 21,998 from each of the six customers in Visakhapatnam. The payment was made through online payment gateway Pay U.
The fraud came to light when the accused did not send the consigned goods.
