A 25-year-old woman died under suspicious circumstances at Pineapple Colony under the Gopalpatnam Police Station limits here on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Sitamahalakshmi, wife of one Suryanarayana, an employee of GVMC’s Malaria Department.
She was married in 2008 and has two children aged four and five years.
According to Gopalapatnam Police Station SHO Bala Surya Rao, the woman’s husband stated that she was found dead in the morning. However, her parents and relatives suspected foul play and lodged a complaint with the police stating that her husband had killed her in the night. The body was sent for post-mortem examination.
