A 25-year-old man was allegedly murdered and his body and motorbike were set ablaze at an isolated place near K Koduru of Visakhapatnam district on Thursday night. The body was found by some passers-by at around 11 p.m. and they alerted the police. Based on the vehicle registration number and a few other clues, the police identified the deceased as Dwarampudi Venkat Krishna Reddy alias Venkat Reddy, a native of Anaparthi area in East Godavari district.
Elamanchili Circle-Inspector K. Venkata Rao said that the police found a knife at the crime spot and the circumstances clearly indicate that some unidentified persons took Krishna Reddy to the isolated spot and stabbed him to death before setting his body and his motorbike on fire.
There were multiple stab wounds on the body and it was badly charred, said Mr. Venkata Rao. Krishna Reddy was a small-time businessman engaged in financing home appliances. Though the deceased was a native of Anaparthi area, his main business was between Rambilli and Atchutapuram.
On Thursday night, he was seen collecting money from various customers in Pudimadaka area till 9.30 p.m.
The police suspect that it was a pre-planned murder as the spot chosen was a deserted place.
We are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the murder
