A 55 year old man died and another was injured when they were hit by a lorry at Akkireddipalem on Wednesday evening.
Driver of the lorry lost control of the vehicle and hit U. Chinna Rao and another person, who were standing near a shop near Akkireddipalem under Pendurthi police station limits. The lorry was going from Anandapuram towards Pendurthi when it hit the victims before ramming into a shop. The lorry driver was trapped in the cabin and was rescued by the police after a long struggle. The body of Chinna Rao was sent to KGH for post mortem. The lorry driver was admitted to a hospital.
