A man allegedly murdered his wife by smashing her head with a heavy stone in an inebriated condition late on Wednesday night near Rangilisingi village, a remote and inaccessible village under Dumbriguda police station limits.
The deceased was identified as Ramba (45).
Accused at large
The accused, Ramana (50), is absconding.
Residents of Kakarapadu village of Ananthagiri mandal, the couple attended a weekly shandy in the mandal, where Ramana was believed to have consumed liquor. On their way home, in a fit of rage over an argument, Ramana allegedly smashed Ramba’s head with a stone, dumped the body near the bushes, and fled, said Dumbriguda Inspector D. Rama Krishna. Family issues could be the reason for the murder, say the police.
A case has been registered and teams have been deployed to nab the culprit.
