A team from IV Town police station, led by inspector D. Laxmana Rao, nabbed a person on robbery charge here on Tuesday.
The arrested was identified as Vanka Sukumar (27) of Sanjeevayya Colony in Thatchetlapalem.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) S. Varada Raju said Sukumar allegedly barged into the house of B. Madhavi, a housewife, when she was alone at her home located in Reddykancharapalem on August 26, assaulted her, and relieved her of a chain weighing about 1.5 tolas.
On Monday, he allegedly robbed a bag containing 13.5 tolas of gold ornaments from a co-passenger in an autorickshaw near Urvasi junction.
He was nabbed when the police team was conducting a routine check of vehicles on the 80-feet road in the Akkayyapalem area.
In all, 15 tolas of gold was recovered from him, said the ADCP.
