Kidney racket: ED team inspects hospital records:

Sleuths from the Enforcement Directorate, Odisha, completed inspection of the records of Seven Hills Hospital in Visakhapatnam on Friday with regard to the alleged kidney sale racket that came to light in June last year.
The incident had come to light when one Namita Nayak of Cuttack who had donated her kidney to Mohan Chandra Lenka of Bhubaneswar lodged a complaint at Mangalabag police station, Bhubaneswar, that she was lured to the surgery. As per reports, Sharmistha Nayak along with her husband Dilip Nayak lured Namita to the kidney sale for a promised sum of Rs. 5 lakh and post surgery that took place at Seven Hills Hospital she was paid only Rs. 2 lakh. The ED officials, who arrived in the city on Wednesday, continued inspection of documents till Friday noon.

According to B. Tirumala Rao, Inspector Three Town, the role of the local police was to provide logistic support to the ED team.
