Four persons, including a head constable from S. Rayavaram Police Station, were caught carrying two country-made guns at Buddibanda village on the outskirts of Ravikamatham mandal in Visakhapatnam district on Sunday.
The police recovered two single-barrel and muzzle-load country-made guns from the four.
The arrested were Head Constable Ch. Chellaya (46), B. Somaraju (27), E.T. Krishna (25) and T. Apparao (30). All of them are said to be close relatives and residents of V. Madugula mandal. All the four were booked under Section 25 and 27 or Arms Act, as they did not posses any licence for the weapons.
Killed in accident
Meanwhile, one person died on the spot and eight others were severely injured when a jeep in which they were travelling overturned on the ghat road under Munchingput police station limits in Visakhapatnam Agency on Sunday. .
