Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught GVMC Fire Officer Srihari Jagannath while accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000 from a complainant here on Wednesday. Based on a complaint from the management of a private English medium school at Sheelanagar, ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police K. Ramakrishna Prasad and his team laid a trap and caught the fire officer while accepting the bribe amount for releasing the fire no-objection certificate for the school, through a private person, Taraka Ramakrishna. Both persons were arrested and they would be produced before the ACB Special Court on Friday, said Mr. Ramakrishna Prasad. Earlier in the day, the DSP, interacting with the media persons, said that the ACB had asked all the government departments such as RTA and Stamps and Registration to display a flowchart of work at a prominent place for the benefit of general public. “If a chart is displayed, people will know who deals with what case or work. And if they face difficulty due to corruption, they can inform us on the toll free number 1064,” he said.
He is accused of accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000 for releasing a NOC for a school in Sheelanagar
