Engineer arrested on cheating charge:

An Assistant Divisional Engineer was arrested on the charge of cheating a B. Tech graduate to the tune of Rs.11 lakh by promising him a job in the Rural Electrification Society RECS Limited at Kasimkota.

The accused, P. Tirumala Reddy, an Assistant Divisional Engineer at ITDA, Parvathipuram, APEPDCL, Department in Vizianagaram, is residing at China Waltair in the city and is a native of Srikakulam district. He allegedly collected Rs.11 lakh in the form of three cheques from his relative Chetla Jeevanandha Reddy of Kancharapalem area by assuring him of a job to his son Srikanth Reddy, a B. Tech graduate in RECS at Kasimkota as an Assistant Engineer.

After taking the money, Tirumala Reddy sent a fake appointment letter to Srikanth Reddy. The crime came to light when Srikanth came to know that the appointment letter was fake. His father lodged a complaint with Fifth Town police. The Fifth Town police investigated the case and arrested Tirumala Reddy, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) CM Naidu.
