Inspector of Police, Marine Police Station, Pudimadaka, Visakhapatnam district, Sheikh Hussain, was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, here on Wednesday.
As per the initial assessment by the ACB, the market value of the seized documents from the house of the inspector and from other places suggests that he possess wealth to the tune of about Rs. 10 crore.
The documents are mostly in the name of his family members, kith and kin and in benami names, said ACB DSP Kinjarapu Ramakrishna Prasad.

The documents seized include one fully-furnished three-storied posh house on about 300 sq yds of land at Chapalauppada near Thimmapuram, a site measuring about 470 sq yds at Sheelanagar and another 270 sq yds at Yendada, all in Visakhapatnam city.
This apart, a house built over 260 sq yds at Muslim Colony in Pendurthi in the name of his associate by name Anita and a few benami documents found at her house are also being investigated, said Mr. Ramakrishna Prasad.
“A real estate company by name Orbrise Infra Project, in the name of his son and daughter, is also being probed. The infra company has built three duplex houses at Suryanagar in Pendurthi, and it is suspected that the land was procured by the accused,” said the DSP.
The ACB had conducted simultaneous raids in about 16 places such as Visakhapatnam, Rajam, Bengaluru and Vizianagaram. A locker in the name of his daughter was unearthed at Bengaluru and it is yet to be opened.
