A convict serving life term committed suicide in the Central Jail on Monday.
P. Neelakantam, a native of Dumriguda mandal, in the Agency area of Visakhapatnam, was convicted for killing his wife in 2009.
Ever since then he was suffering from some kind of mental disorder and was admitted a few times to the Government Hospital for Mental Care.
According to the jail officials, he was serving his sentence in the psychiatric ward, where he committed the act by hanging himself from the window with the help of a bedsheet. The body was handed over to the family members after post mortem.
