Two occupants of a car had a miraculous escape on Monday when the car in which they were travelling hit a road divider on the beach road near Appu Ghar and caught fire.
Some eyewitness said the occupants got down just a few seconds before fire engulfed the car.
The car was totally gutted by the time the fire tenders reached the spot.
According to an eyewitness, the car hit the median while trying to avoid collusion with a two-wheeler that was coming from MVP double road to beach road.
According to the police, the car driver lost control while trying to save the old man riding the two-wheeler.
The occupants suffered simple injuries and were shifted to a hospital by the locals.
A police official said, “The fire erupted from the fuel tank that ruptured due to the impact after hitting the median.”
