Burglary case suspect commits suicide:

A suspect in a burglary case committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan hook at his home under Sabbavaram police station limits in the district on Tuesday. D. Trinadh (25) was said to have taken the extreme step allegedly due to police harassment. Some unidentified persons gained entry into the house of an SBI employee and decamped with gold and cash. Trinadh, a carpenter of Aripaka village and two others were suspects in the burglary case. Based on a complaint from the bank employee, the police took Trinadh and the other accused into their custody for interrogation. The police reportedly tortured them after branding them as ‘burglars’ and freed them on Monday evening.
Trinadh reportedly took the extreme step as he was upset by the police harassment . The police seized a letter, purportedly written by Trinadh, stating that he was ending his life as the Sabbavaram police harassed him after foisting false cases.
Parents and relatives staged a protest placing the body of Trinadh on the road in front of the Sabbavaram police station bringing the traffic to a standstill for about three hours. Anakapalle rural CI Bhushan Naidu rushed to Sabbavaram and pacified the agitators assuring them of conducting an enquiry and action against those responsible for the death.

A case was registered under Section 174 of Cr PC, according to the Inspector.
