Burglars struck at a house in TPT Colony in broad daylight on Friday and decamped with 100 gm of gold jewellery.
The burglars gained entry into the house of S. Prabhakar Reddy, area manager of a fertiliser company, under Dwaraka Police Station limits by breaking open the front door lock when the inmates had gone out.
Mr. Prabhakar Reddy left home for office at around 10.30 a.m. and his wife S. Devi locked the house and took their daughter to the school to take part in Sri Krishna Janamashtami celebrations at around 12 noon.
Devi and her daughter returned at around 1.30 p.m. for lunch and found that the front door lock was broken and all lights inside the house were on.
Gold jewellery weighing about 100 gm that were kept in an almirah were found missing.
Based on the complaint, Crime Wing of the Dwaraka Police led by Ch. Shanmukha Rao conducted a preliminary investigation and fingerprint experts searched the house for clues.
