Based on a call received at Dial 100 from a caller, the Gopalapatnam police have found a body, partially stuffed in a gunny bag, near a culvert at Kothapalem.
The body was in a highly decomposed state and was identified as one S. Lokanatham (32), an employee of East Coast Railway.
According to ACP (north zone) the deceased would have died at least three days ago. He further said that the family members had informed the police that the deceased was a habitual alcoholic and was missing since June 24 night.
The family members had not filed a complaint, as it had been the habit of the deceased to go on a drinking binge and not return home for a couple of days. The police identified the body with the help of an identity card. The body was found about one-km from his residence.
