Accused in auto drivers murder arrested:

Prime accused in the murder of Killaparthi Sreenu (30), an autorickshaw driver and resident of Shivajipalem, on Monday was nabbed by the Three Town police on Tuesday.

The accused was identified as Dokka Ramana (47), a friend of Sreenu.

SHO of Three Town Police Station (MVP Zone) Vidyasagar said that Ramana had a grudge against Sreenu ever since the latter beat up his son Siva in April this year.

“Sreenu hit Siva with a beer bottle in a drunken brawl. He was arrested then,” said Mr. Vidyasagar.

The victim was also allegedly in the habit of insulting Ramana after consuming liquor. On Tuesday, both consumed liquor and were in an inebriated condition. They had an argument and Ramana took a stick and hit Sreenu on the head. He was sent to KGH with bleeding head injuries in an ambulance, but was declared brought dead.

A murder case under IPC Section 302 had been booked. Investigation is on.
